Trisakti University is the only private university in Indonesia which was established by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on 29 November 1965 by Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science (PTIP) 013/dar No. 1965 signed by Dr. Sjarif Thajeb. November 29 is then set as the birthday of the University of Trisakti.

The delivery process begins with the destruction of Trisakti University Respublika by the University of the Year in 1965 for being involved in the movement of the Indonesian Communist Party in September 1965 from the debris  that’s built Respublika Trisakti University.

Trisakti University name given by Dr. Ir Soekarno, the President of the Republic of Indonesia at that time. The foundation of this is the major milestone in efforts Trisakti University educated the children of the nation to participate in various aspects, such as intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social sensitivity toward others, gets the wisdom and justice.

At its inception Trisakti University has five faculties, namely Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Engineering, which has 4 (four) departments namely the Department of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Architecture.

Today, in his journey, Trisakti University has had 9 (nine) faculties: the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Industrial Technology Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology, Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Engineering environment, and the Faculty of Arts and Design, with the number 23 (twenty three) Degree Program and 5 (five) Diploma Program. In addition there is the Graduate having 8 (eight) and Master’s Degree Program 2 (two) Doctoral Program.

Teaching Systems
Educational systems referred to by the entire scope of the University Studies Program at Trisakti is Semester Credit System (SKS), which can be defined as an education management system that uses the semester credit units (credits) to declare a study load of students, students’ learning experience, faculty workload and expense implementation of the program.

Semester is a continuous piece of time where students study with a number of load credits that have been planned at the beginning of the semester. In each semester of the academic activities implementation schedule is set for 16 to 19 weeks of lectures. In addition to lectures or practical implementation, in this period, activities of other academic support and assessment or evaluation activities.

Semester Credit Units
Hereinafter abbreviated semester credit unit credits, is a measure appreciation of the learning experience acquired during a semester, either through the activity of scheduled lectures, lab work, field work or self-employment.

Study Expenses
To achieve a degree, each student should be able to resolve a number of expenses that have been set by each study program. Study load of students in a semester is the number of credits that can be taken by students in the semester in question.

In the first semester, students are required to take the entire burden of the study presented as a package that has been set. Large study load of students that can be taken at each subsequent semester depending on student achievements expressed concerned with Semester Performance Index (IPS) which has been obtained in previous semesters.

Achievement Index
Performance Index (PI) is the average achievement scores of students at the end of the semester that describe the quality of teaching and learning process. Performance Index and expressed in numbers with two decimal places, which is calculated using the formula: IP = ? (K x N) / ?FK with K and N is the weight of each fixation and the value of credits from any courses that were completed by students.

Thanks to the ever increasing needs of the community will be good workers in information technology, on July 1, 1986, School of Informatics and Computer Management (STMIK) Bina Nusantara was established with the program-Strata 1 (S1) majoring in Management Information and Computer Science. On November 9, 1987, AMIK Bina Nusantara merged into Bina Nusantara STMIK to form an organized institution Diploma III (DIII) and Strata-1 (S1). Bina Nusantara STMIK managed to obtain a status of “comparable” for all majors and levels on March 18, 1992, and on May 10, 1993 gained the confidence to open a Master of Management Program Information System, one of the first Graduate Program in Indonesia in the field.

On August 8, 1996, Binus University standing and legally recognized by the government. Bina Nusantara STMIK then merged into the Binus University on December 20, 1998, so Binus University has: Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Graduate School.

History of Diponegoro University (Undip) started around the early 1950s the people of Central Java community in general and Semarang in particular, requires the presence of a university as higher education and teaching. This is to assist the government in handling and implementing development in all sectors. At that time, in the Province of Central Java and Yogyakarta have only the University of Gadjah Mada experience as a state university.

Number of high school graduates in the northern part of Central Java who want to continue higher education at the university increasing, but still very limited because of the university, so that not all graduates can be entry there. Recognizing the needs of higher education is increasingly urgent, and the Foundation was established with the University of Semarang Akte Notaris Soeprapto RM No. 59 dated 4 December 1956 as the first step in the establishment of a university with the name of the University of Semarang.

History Institute of Technology 10 November (ITS) began in 1957 when the East Java branch PII Lustrum the first, the idea of a Foundation Engineering College in the city of Surabaya, East Java explained.

Some of the reasons for establishing the foundation, among others, of a land area and has a wealth of natural abundant and not utilized, the needs of 7,000 engineers to carry out development programs and industry in the country, and see the comparison with the number of engineers in the developed countries and other developing that far exceeds the number in Indonesia.

Several years later, University Engineering 10 November to change the status of a university with the name Institute of Technology 10 November in Surabaya. Ten November Institute of Technology, Surabaya that has two departments, namely Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and then changed to five, namely, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Shipping, Chemical and Engineering.

In line with the further development of this campus, faculty, and then changed direction to become faculty. Then, with government regulation No. 9 1961 (and then set on 23 March 1961) stipulated that the Dies Natalis Ten November Institute of Technology, the first is dated 10 November 1960. History of Padjajaran University (UNPAD) was established based on the initiative of community leaders who want the West of the universities where young people of West Java obtain higher education. This is done to prepare leaders in the future.

After a series of processes, on 11 September 1957 UNPAD officially established through Government Regulation No. 37 1957. An open ceremony by President Sukarno made on 24 September 1957.
In the initial stand, UNPAD, has only four faculties. However, UNPAD developed into one of the leading universities in Indonesia to 15 faculty and a Postgraduate Program.

Education programs that are offered consist of nine Doctor of Science Field and 18 Master’s Studies Program, 42 Studies Strata I (S1), four Professional Studies, 26 Studies Program Specialist, a Diploma Program (D-4), and 27 Studies Diploma ( D-3).
