The structure of higher education in Indonesia

The structure of higher education in Indonesia consisted of 2 educational routes that are academic education and professional education.

• Academic education was higher education that was aimed especially at the science command and the development, and more gave priority to the increase in the quality as well as widened the concept of science. Academic education was held by the college, the institute, and the university.

• Professional education was higher education that was aimed especially at application readiness of the certain expertise, as well as gave priority to the increase in the capacity/work skills or stressed the application of knowledge and technology. This professional education was held by the academy, the polytechnic, the college, the institute, and the university.

• Academic education produced the graduate who received the academic degree and was held through the Scholar’s program (S1-Strata) or the Postgraduate program. This postgraduate program covered the Master’s Degree program and the Doctor’s program (S2 and S3).

• Professional route education produced the graduate who received the professional term that was held through the diploma program (D1, D2, D3, and D4) or the Specialist (Sp1, Sp2).

The form of the Tertiary Institution

The form of the Tertiary Institution is one of the structure higher education in Indonesia. The tertiary institution was the educational unit that held higher education and could have the shape of the academy, the polytechnic, the college, the institute, or the university.

• The academy held the professional educational program in one branch or some branches of science, technology, or certain art.
• The polytechnic held the professional educational program in several special knowledge fields.
• The college held the academic educational program and/or professional in the scope of one discipline of certain knowledge.
• The institute held the academic educational program and/or professional in a group of discipline of science, technology, and/or similar art.
• The university held the academic educational program and/or professional in an amount of discipline of science, technology, and/or certain art.

Studies in USA

May be had dreams of could go to studies in US. For supported the career or continued education, we believed that one of the universities in the USA was the best choice. Whatever the reason, at this time we planned to go there to fill this goal. We often have read about the USA, watched US films, in fact speaking with the citizen AS. But only with really lived there in us could master the language and understood the US culture to know the superpower’s country. Many students came to the USA with the concept that was wrong about the life there. They saw the reality that not all the US citizens had blond hair, not all of them rich.

The diversity
The place and people that live in there very multitudinous. Any university that was chosen by us, we will be faced with the local culture that had the long history, was rich in the tradition and the local tradition.

The implementation of the Entrance Examination of Polytechnic Caltex Riau I 2008 was carried out on June 3 2008.

As many 289 participants followed this exam in the campus of the Caltex Riau.
